Hello from Visalia, CA.

At this point, I strictly make knives as an occasional hobby. I don't have any special tools yet, so at this point I simply make stock-removal, 5160 knives out of leaf springs using an angle grinder, hand files and sandpaper (after I anneal with a shop-vac powered camp fire). I heat treat with a torch and kitchen oven.

I joined this forum because of the wealth of knowledge that resides here. It truly is amazing what you all do. Thanks for the inspiration.
 
Welcome to the pound. you are right there is an amazing amount of knowledge here ( myself excluded) and you will find that everyone is more than willing to share that knowledge. We will all start to fill like a part of your family soon ( promise and or threat, lol).
 
Welcome from a Flori-Dog at Blade this week. Lots here to learn and people to meet. Everyone starts somewhere, shows some of your work so you can get the help you need. I still have a box of knife like objects to refer to in my shop and occasionally add a piece to it. LOL
