Many of you know Jim Nowka directly or indirectly. Jim founded and operated Knifeforums.com until a little over a year ago when Blade Magazine bought the forum from him and hired him as a field editor. A year later Jim and Blade separated leaving Jim looking for work.

Jim decided to create a new knife publication designed for the digital age on mobile devices. The first edition is out and available to download free of charge. He reached out to several knowledgeable people in the industry for the first edition and you can expect the issues to get even better from the high bar he set with this launch.

If these links bugger up, search for Knife Journal on Itunes, the Android store or Amazon

If you have an Apple or Android or Kindle device, grab a copy and have a look.

Which one do you use to read on plain old windows?

you don't -- which I see as a challenge.

I intend to hound Jim with no mercy until he comes up with a PC readable version. I think there is a Kindle emulator out there for Windows. I'll go poke around.

Bossdog,
That is quite the gentleman of you to mention and promote another knife site.
I was on another knife site recently and the trashing of other sites and makers was not only allowed, It was almost encouraged.

Its great to be here at Knifedogs in this always positive environment.

Have you tried the (free) Kindle reader on Windows?

I took a run at it but couldn't get a PC windows version to download for a kindle windows version.

Maybe he can convert it to a PDF, seems to be a pretty common route, would love to check it out, but only have a windows pc.

There is quite a bit of video and animation embedded. It can't be converted to pdf....

Jim has the link and will be watching the thread. I will also see him this next weekend at the USN Gathering in Vegas. I am going to get him to buy me a cold beverage refreshment or two. He will be convinced he needs a PC version before the weekend is over.

Just downloaded it to my Nexus. Looks pretty smart. Love the interactive nature of it. Will save it for my holiday. :)

I must admit I did find Jim's sale of knifeforums a bit surprising...

I downloaded it to my Nexus with hopes of reading some on a break at work, but apparently you need Wifi for some of the content?

At any rate, I did start reading the first couple of pages/chapters at home, and so far I'm impressed. Very nicely done.

I've been listening to their podcast while working in the shop and quite enjoy it. In the last episode they intereviewed Mike Stewart of Bark River Knives and it was a very enlightening discussion.
