New blade with Hollow Grind

I worked on a 1x30 and a much too fast 2x42 for years. When I stepped up to my 2x72 I ordered an eight and 10" wheel before the flat platen setup. Fought that for about 3 weeks and the wheels sit under the bench unused. I guess I spent so long on concave and ffg I didn't give the hg a fair shake.
But the wheels made quick work of thinning down a too thick piece of 5160!

That looks good OP, I've been hollow grinding for a long time. a couple weeks ago I changed out my 8" wheel for a 12" and man...I'm liking it.

I have a 10" wheel. It came with the package deal from KMG when I ordered it last year. I think I'd like to have a 12" wheel.

I dont do hollow grinds so this is a question rather than a critique. Is there a reason that the edge contour is not followed by the grind contour.

Well Kevin I’d say you would master it much quicker than I. You are going to be amazing when you get your 2x72 (not that you aren’t already) !
You have the craftsmanship gift as well as the design gift.
Aww thanks, OP! What a compliment! You are too kind! There’s a guy near me who does some beautiful hollow grinds. When I get a hold of a 2 by 72, I’m gonna go soak up all the info I can. I can’t lie though, since I’ve been doing all flat grinds, I’ve kinda fallen in love with them.
