need a toolrest for GIB project

Has anyone used a Veritas grinder toolrest for their 72 x 2 belt grinder? I need a tool rest for the GIB I'm builing for my son and trying to keep from spend $300 on an adjustible tool rest.

Bump. I'm interested in responses, too.

I built a NWG last year and am happy with it except I don't have a tool rest. (I bought enough steel tubing to make the NWG tool rest, but I've put it off hoping to find something that's more adjustable.)

How hard could it be to design and build it yourself? It sounds like you're pretty handy if you already built a NWG and now a GIB. My daddy always said "if you want something done, do it yourself"
Maybe if you had some pictures we can give you some moral support? Many of us have milling machines and would make a special part or two for ya.
