National Leather Worker Day

KNIFE MAKER
Today is National Leather Worker Day. I made myself a Roper Style Wallet. DeMo is my nickname. First two letters of my first and last name. Made from 5-6 oz. leather for the outer layer. 2-3 oz. for the interior. Arrowhead basketweave pattern, round braid on interior, double loop around the edge. Should last me at least a decade. Maybe two. We’ll see.

Unfortunately, the answer is no. I have never used a zipper. I want to make a leather briefcase that uses a zipper. Kind of scares me a bit.

Check out a gent on YouTube, Deisel-Punk RO (if I remember right) he just did a bag with a zipper. Looks pretty easy. And I've seen your work dont think you'd have an issue!

DeMo, do you use Fiebing's Antique finish on your tooled areas?
The stamping stands out great.

Yes, I use Fiebings antique. This one I used ecoflow gel antique (tan). I usually use a hardly damp paper towel after applying the antique. It smooths out the coloring on the flats above the tooling.
