My third knife ever...

Hey guys... just finished this one hot on the heels of the Airborne Utility I finished yesterday.

The steel is, once again, 5160, with a zero convex grind. The handle scales are desert ironwood, and the pins are mosaic. I will also be making a leather sheath to go with this one.

Jorchiem,
A nice simple knife. Now that you have two under your belt
If I may suggest? For your next one think out your design of the blade and handle to make it more user friendly.

Laurence, believe it or not, this particular style of knife is what inspired me to start making knives in the first place. It ain't sexy, but it was what I wanted. My original goal was to make a really nice bushcraft knife for my personal use, since I lost all my camping gear in a tornado almost a decade ago.

That being said, I agree with you that I need to step up my game a bit. I have three more in the hopper already in the ht process. The first is a paring knife for a local restauranteur, the second is a skinner, and the third is probably my most complicated to date: a 15" parang-inspired chete with inlaid handles and filework down the spine. I have been working on that last one for about 2 months now, and have been taking my time since it's my first true commissioned piece. Once it's done, I will definitely be posting pics for feedback, as I think it reflects the extent of my skills as a knifemaker at this point in my development.

Thanks again for the feedback. It's that sort of advice that helps push me forward.
