My rendition of a Green River Buffalo knife

It was a challenge as my forge is made for smaller blades. I wanted this for myself. It's leaf spring steel with Bocote handles and twisted copper wire pins. I left the hammer marks and forging marks to give it a rustic look.

Looks good. How did the leaf spring work under the hammer. What type anvil do you have and what type hammer do you use.

Hello
I have a 55# anvil, I used 3 hammers; a 3# for the forming, a shorter 2# for the bevels, and a 1# for the edge work. I did this one more primitive. I finished it with files and sandpaper. I've been using leaf springs for awhile, the steel responds well to forging and is easy to work when it's annealed. It took a few blades to get the heat treat right, but when it's right it sharpens good and keeps it's edge.
