My First Knife Making Video

Awesome video, as a bladesmith I did cringe watching you cut that out with all that steel going to waste I was like you could forge two knives out of that.Loved the music and all the different shots well done and was a joy to watch !

Thank you ...lol about cringing . I Also make Damascus jewelry . I positioned the knife the way I wanted the blade to look and I will still get two or three pieces for Damascus dog tag pendants.

I love seeing different from different makers and it helps me see a bigger picture

Nicely done Mark! Camera angles were very good. Pacing of the video and music choice were spot on. Your opening and closing sequences were very professional. I enjoyed watching it very much. Do you have prior video experience?

Nicely done! The music and everything came together very well. I was ready to echo what AKWildman said about your steel until you mentioned also making Damascus jewelry.

Nice job! I have made a few videos so I know how much time it takes to set up the camera for each shot and do some editing so I appreciate it even more!

Thanks Randy, no nothing of any substance. I just started to get interested in more of the editing process and being creative. There are many fun continuity errors in it. For one I put on a red belt and magically turns green on the next clip.

I’m glad you said that. So time consuming. I can really appreciate the people who have quality you tube channels.
This was also only done with my phone. I bought a tripod that has a flexible arm and holder on top.

Excellent Mark!! As has already been said.... it takes time and effort to make/produce videos. I've tried the editing a few times, and I am far better suited to just stick to making the knives...... and letting my Son Tim (KMT) handle videos. Kudos to you!!!

Thanks Ed, that means a lot. My brother said , wow you make making knives look so simple. I said yup, it was a video like that ..that got me hooked. But the video is like a reality show. But like others have said, if it was easy, it would be boring. Overall I am happy that is a difficult hobby for me to learn.
