Multibar pale white line issue..

Hey guys, I'm working on a multi bar mosaic pattern and after the forge weld I am getting this pale white line between the welds. I did not use flux, as I have heard that causes issues like this. I am wondering if its just at the ends of the billet or if it goes all the way through, I have not checked it yet. Any ideas?

I don't think it's anything to worry about. I've seen that on billets prior to thermal cycling/normalization and HT before and it isn't there after forging and proper HT.
Hopefully others with more experience than me will chime in if they have different info.

Thanks for the link Gene, there was a lot of good info in there. I'm gonna square this billet one more time, cut in 4ths and reweld...we will see how it looks after the next forge weld!
