Monkey pod wood, Who has worked with it?

I was digging through the wood bin and found a chunk of chocolate an tan wood, and it was monkey pod. Liked the grain and colors so Im going to give it a whirl.
Researched the rot resistance and found it to be desired for out door use so I don't see a reason why not use it.
Am asking if there are any quirks for finishing it?
 
I was given an old table top made from monkey pod several years ago. Haven't used any in years now. Can's recall any problems working it other than the dust irritated my eyes and made me sneeze. It was one of the few woods I was sensitive to.

Well here is the set of scales at the moment flat but nothing figured or fancy.
Is a edc tool like all of the knives I have made so far.
