I have never seen a hamon take an etch above the hardening line like that one. It is interesting.

I have had a couple act weird like that. Not sure why but it happens. Maybe its a “southern problem”.

Nicely done!!

You guys that start and finish a knife in a week or so simply amaze me. Completing a knife takes me months. My day job keeps me way too busy. Retirement must be the key?

I note in your final picture that the shadow kind of disappeared a bit as you polished up the blade. Maybe it is a camera angle. Nonetheless, kind of a bummer. I really like "different" and "interesting" when it comes to knives. Same old, same old, eventually gets boring...
