CALL/WRITE TODAY! Mississippi Knife Law Preemption Bill Passed House Committee
Mississippi Representative Herb Frierson last week introduced Knife Rights' Knife Law Preemption bill, HB 1294. Today HB 1294 was passed out of the House Judiciary B Committee with a "do pass" recommendation. Next step is the House floor vote.
Knife Law Preemption repeals and prevents local ordinances more restrictive than state law which only serve to confuse or entrap law-abiding citizens traveling within or through the state. Preemption ensures citizens can expect consistent enforcement of state knife laws everywhere in a state.
If you live, work or travel to Mississippi CALL and EMAIL your State Representatives and urge them to "Please Vote YES on HB 1294." That's it, keep it short and to the point. Knife Rights passed the nation's first Knife Law Preemption bill in Arizona in 2010 and has since passed preemption bills in Alaska, Georgia, Kansas, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and most recently in Wisconsin.
