Well . . . . This isn't as good as I hoped it would turn out but I like it anyway. This is a big knife for a big man. The handle is slightly oversized and the blade is broad. If you look closely you can see the slightest hint of a Hamon. If the Hamon was better I would love it.

The specs are:
Blade material: W-2
Blade Finish: Satin Finish
OAL: 9 1/2”
Blade Length: 4 7/8”
Blade Width at Plunge Line: 1 3/4”
Blade thickness at Plunge Line: .198"
Handle Length: 4 5/8”
Handle Material: Snakewood
Two pins: 7/16" Carbon Fiber
Handle Finish: Tru Oil 12 coat5s (per Ed McCaffery)
Time of fabrication: 12.5 Hours

Thanks,

Now that is a man size knife! Nice job Wallace, I like the profile and the carbon fiber pins blend in nice to not distract from the snakewood.

love it. I have been wanting to try snake wood but have heard many horror stories. In your opinion how was it to work?

Thanks, Guys. I found Snakewood to be very similar to Desert Ironwood, very dense and oily. It seemed to polish itself even when sanding with larger grits. This blade is finished with Tru Oil but I doubt it needs any finish at all. Overall, I love the look and working it wasn't too bad. Thanks again for the nice comments.

Wow, Bruce, coming from you I consider that quite the compliment, maybe I won't quit knifemaking after all. :1: Its new daddy is going on Safari in Africa and wanted a knife that looks the part. Thanks, Bruce
