Has anyone here had any experience using Malasian Blackwood for knife handles? Any drawbacks? I know that this wood is used to make guitars.
 
None here but let me know how it works out for you. I need a replacement for African Blackwood (too much junk out there being passed as select or better, grade). I've had to start using Gaboon Ebony and its a bit pricier so an alternative would be nice.
 
Mike I heard back from a couple of other guys that said they had used it and that it is a good wood for handles. One guy said that he uses it in place of African Blackwood.
