So like the title say's I'm looking for an anvil for a friend.
That friend is the welder at my work place. he mostly welds steel pipe and tapping fixtures for our natural gas pipeline system but fabricates a lot of stuff in his shop.

Our entire plant is being replaced right now, along with his weld shop.
the "as of now" price of this project is.................a whopping.......$23,000,000

So last week his boss asked me where he could get an anvil. I told him to look on the internet but what ever you do, give me some time to see what I can find...info wise.
So when I asked him what he was looking to spend he said.... price is no option, I want big and I want baddass...my eyes glazed over and I went numb.:D I said look, don't pull the trigger on anything yet, let me do some research for you.
So......what says the dog pound?

P S.....I'm half way to convincing our welder to build a forge too.:D

Locating an anvil might go a long way, towards that forge!!! OK so I am gonna give this a shot!

Steve that is about all I can turn up from my end. I will leave you with the leg work, so to speak! Hat tip.jpg

I think he needs options. Buy the two most badass anvils you can find. Let him pick the best one. Then I'll take that old raggedy one he didn't want, you know, to help him make room in his shop because I'm just a nice guy and I like to help.

Thanks for the replies so far, the gas utility company I work for is owned by the city, so even though it will be coming out of my company's fund the city will be looking at it like their paying for it.
So that leaves out any craigs list or ebay used anvils.
It has to be......
1- brand new
2- big
3- delivered by a reputable shipping company to our property

It's understood by management that this will be a forever tool for the company, so price isn't really in the equation.
everyone in this company knows I make knives, so there looking for my input.
I believe a #200 anvil is a good starting point, with a square back.
