Little Skinner Osage Orange

I was able to get to the shop and get the final sanding done on the scales for this little knife. 6-1/4" OAL, 2-1/8" cutting edge, 3" blade, Osage Orange scales with etched flats, micarta pins and lanyard tube. Overcast and sprinkling so not the best conditions for the photo shoot:)

Aha! Wood! That I know how to talk about. Osage orange is a very nice wood to work with, it turns very nice and tends to be quite durable. Considering the colour on that handle, you have an older piece of it (Which looks better than bright yellow in my opinion.). What was the finish you used may I ask? As well as that what was the train of thought that led up to using micarta as pins? I've never seen that before. Nice patina by the way.

It is quite an old piece of Osage. A gift from a friend that had it in his shop for many years. I hand sanded to 800 grit and hand buffed a wax finish.
I like using micarta pins and use them in quite a few of my knives. Several are posted in this forum.
