Hello Everyone,
I made a little bowie for fun. The steel is w2, the handle is curly oak stained with aqua fortis, wrought iron guard, mild steel bolster, copper pin and spacers.

Blade = 6"
handle = 4.75"

I am not as experienced with bowies as I am with swords or hunting knives. I wanted to make this one for fun, though.

and now a few shots of the hamon. This is actually one of the more lively hamons I have ever gotten on a small blade. I really like it.

Thanks for looking. comments are welcomed.

Randy,
I just needed a break from all of the polishing. I have a 25" dao sitting on my shelf that I need to polish and etch and polish some more and then make the fittings. The fittings are fun, now that I have made several. But, polishing a blade that is 1.25" wide and 25" long is NEVER fun.

Kevin, that is a beauty. I particularly like the guard shaping, the blade polish, and the handle wood. I've been meaning to try aqua fortis on some other species besides maple, this gives me an idea of how it will look with oak.
