Leopard wood scales

Your grinds and your fit and finish are looking fantastic. How'd you like working that leopard wood? I have some but I haven't used any yet.

Thanks John!
I like working with leopard wood. It's hard and finishes well with hand sanding. This isn't the best piece I've used but it does have some nice spots. I do a minimal finish with Danish oil and then hand wax.

That's a nice looking design right there. Great EDC type. Was the wood stabilized? I'm just wondering if that is one of those woods that may look better stabilized. I've been playing around with some Koa that I got a while back and stabilized it and it came out gorgeous. I might have to try and put some leopard wood in the next batch too.

I'm not sure about that Lobo. I've used some other stock with a tighter spot grain and it came out really nice. I think it might just be the luck in pick of the liter. This is a picture of a different block of leopard wood I had and the grain is much better. (this is one of my earlier knives.)
