Well I learned a lot building number 4.

O1 steel, Denim micarta, and brass guard. The kiln makes a huge difference in the way the steel preforms and handles. Thanks for the suggestion guys.

Thanks Matt and your dead on. I found an old knife of my grand fathers. No brand or marks but he said he bought it some time in the early 60s he thought.
