Today is Louisiana Switchblade Freedom Day! Knife Rights’ Louisiana Switchblade Ban Repeal, HB 892, goes into effect today. HB 892 repealed the total ban on switchblade knives in Louisiana and allows for the possession and carry of a switchblade knife provided it is not “intentionally concealed on one’s person.” That provision was necessary to gain the neutrality of the Sheriffs and the State Police and provides a defense against prosecution if the knife is inadvertently covered. Manufacture and sale of automatic knives is also now legal.

Allowing for the concealed carry of a switchblade in Louisiana is complicated because it would require a significant change to Louisiana’s concealed carry law. Knife Rights will continue to look for opportunities to fix this aspect of the law in the future.

Knife Rights’ record of 29 bills repealing knife bans at the state and local levels in 21 states in the past 8 years is unrivaled. With your support, Knife Rights is rewriting knife law in America™.

A knife carried fully within a pocket and not visible, is concealed and woudl be a violation. A knife clipped to a pocket seems to be clearly not "intentionally concealed." Clipped to a pocket with an untucked shirt covering the pocket clip might likely be a violation

That’s crazy lol. Thanks for the reply. We are moving in the right direction for sure!

I would just stay with a flipper any ways.I personally don't like the use of a clip it only let's everyone know wat's in your pocket.

This is true! I’m an 870 pump man myself, but it’s hard to conceal lol. Every time I try, my glock scratches it up. But it’s okay, now, because I can tape a switch blade to my forehead, and leave the 870 at the house.
