This was my 3rd attempt and still a sheath needs to be made. And lots of thanks for the advice along the way. This is probably my 5th completed knife. There are blemishes and inconstancies but overall I am happy with it.
I would say the toughest part of making this knife was the part when I was making the knife.

Material: Alabama Damascus Steel .175 mm
OAL: 10 inches
Handle: Desert Ironwood, not stabilized
Lanyard: Leather
Bead: Antique Musket Ball

Damascus was brought up to 600 grit, soaked in 50/50 Ferric Chlorode and Apple Cider Vinegar 45 minutes
Acid stop with baking soda water and washed and wiped down till no black shown on Paper towel.
Then hit lightly with 1000 grit.

I guess I'll find out. Sharpening is one of my weak points as well. I'm still working on yours. Bolsters and scales are next. I need to figure out a sheath as well.

And that antique musket ball for a bead is way cool!

I’m looking forward to seeing it. I am glad I got in on this this year. Although next year I hope the theme is neck knives.

That's a beautiful knife. The ironwood grain and damascus pattern really compliment each other.

The last time (only time) I tried to etch Damascus I never got it to that point. The black would always rub completely off.

Ready to send to Sean. Message me your address. This is my first sheath so it is a pretty simple design.A82CA38E-A38C-423C-A230-93536FC7FED0.jpegA82CA38E-A38C-423C-A230-93536FC7FED0.jpegD60385E0-6AD8-4E54-A0AD-DFDBBBF0A093.jpeg
