Kiln project

OK got my brick started building my kiln for heat treating. My question is: what works best for heat source? I have a Propane torch and, have looked at a weed killing torch but, I am not sure if they will put out enough heat to quench the blade. So what do yall recommend for a heat source and how hot does it need to be.

There are serveral sites that tell how to build a forge. They explain the whys and what nots as well as design and results that can be expected. Did you try searching here? Ed Caffry used to offer plans to buy at a very low price. I'll just bet he gave a lot of free advice as well. Try bringing up hisite and have a look see. I wish you well on this project. Frank
