KDs Best of 2020....

An absolutely jaw dropping set of knives - I just sat and starred at each knife and asked "how the hell did he do that".
What an inspiration and how impressive it is for each of you to share your outstanding craftsmanship.
J Doyle how did you get that tiger maple inlay in the handle?

Thank you. I cut the pockets in the solid block of blackwood then hand cut/filed/scraped and fit the inlays.

Amazing knives.
I feel like a rookie looking at these.
I better dig in a little.

Some truly amazing craftsmanship from a very talented bunch of guys. I don’t think I’ve asked a question on this forum that I didn’t get an answer to and a generous offer of help. A lot of hobbies tools and techniques are a closely guarded secret. Not here. We have Master Smiths who have spent many years developing their art that freely share their knowledge. Knowledge that cost them a lot of blood, sweat and tears to acquire. Do you realize how special that is? I do and I’m very grateful.

Some knives from 2020.

I’m especially proud of this one. It was donated to an auction to benefit St. Judes Children’s Hospital. Brought in a nice donation and it felt great to be able to help.
