Well I have been lurking here for a few days so I decided to join up. I have had a love affair with knives since I was a kid. I got my hands on my dads Ka-Bar when I was 9 rummaging through his bag while he was on deployment. When he came home and realized I had it he figured since I made it through his 8 month deployment without cutting off a finger or hurting anyone we went to the store and he got me my first knife, a lockback Buck. Got a butterfly knife for my 11th B-Day and it has pretty much been down hill since then.
I have never really been into the realm of higher end knives like the ones here. I have mostly off the shelf items purchased because I liked the look or had some use for it at the time. I have mostly folders, Benchmade, Spyderco, ect. and a few fixed blades thrown into the mix.
I have ordered a few items and plan on experimenting when I get them. I would love nothing more than to be able to build a knife from scratch. After seeing the tutorals here and the willingness of the more experienced members to share info I have no doubt that I will be able to someday.
