Thanks Jesse. I bought a new blade at Lowe’s to try it. Gonna put it on after supper and give everything a check.

usually, on wood faster is better . also a wide (1/2 or 3/4 inch wide blade is better with 3 or 4 tpi (teeth per inch) in a skip tooth configuration. Then go thru your tune up procedure and you are good to go

I followed the video that Jesse posted and it worked like a champ. Both saws went from junk to nice pieces of equipment. It was all due to my ignorance but thankfully Jesse set me straight.

I have this Jet model from a number of years back, though I didn't pay anywhere near that price for it. It's a pretty good saw. Though I think some of the newer models are coming with carbide guides instead of roller bearings.

As per usual, I am my own worst enemy. I retuned my saw with the gullet in the center of the wheel.

I cut up a pretty decent maple 1x into two short and two full length set of scales. I re-sawed the shorties first and it worked ok. I then switched to the longer pieces and it was wonky as all get out. I arranged my use of the push sticks differently and the last one was pretty decent. But, when I was taking the last piece off the saw, I bumped the guide and it wiggled. I hadn't locked down the adjustable guard arm so the whole thing was moving. I locked it down and flipped over the thicker side (yeah I didn't get 'em quite centered) of the long sets and re-sawed the re-saws. Here are the trimmings.
