Most recent finished knife. 1080 steel with Harmon (Gene Kimmi method). Handle is dyed and stabilized maple burl (also from Gene).

looks great Chris. The Hamon is awesome. I haven’t worked much with 1080 steel. Is it similar to 1084 or 1075?

Looks good! I'm not a fan of green, but the more I see it used, the more I think I might have to use some on a knife.

In person it really looks like camouflage until you take a second look and figure out it’s wood. I struggled on whether I should use a liner or not but I am glad I did not I think it would have taken away from the handle.
 
I will let you know. That is the first I have used from a big order I made with Kelly Cupples. It hardened up well. Now I need to make one and beat the crap out of it.

This is the stuff he's talking about.



I was at Walmart one day getting wax to use on knife blades and happened to see this stuff. I had messed with a couple hamons and had trouble getting them polished out to my liking, so I thought why not try this stuff. I guess I got lucky as I like the results I get using this.

Thanks for the answer. I thought that might be the stuff. I wonder if Brasso would work the same? Guess I'll just have to try it and see.
