Just finished up this hunter/utility field knife. Forged from w2, Damascus fittings, bronze fileworked accent, desert Ironwood handle. Blade is about 4 1/4" long.
That is flawless as usual John, classy but not so fancy as one would be afraid to use it. Very nice. What do you finish you blades with when you do a hamon? Wax, oil etc.
The guard is very intriguing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guard with a lip extending out around the whole outer edge. If I was drawing something like that it would feel wrong, but seeing it- it looks perfectly right.
