How to make the Caswell Finish smell go away ?

So as of lately i have been darkening a lot of my stainless blades with Caswell Stainless Darkening gel, it works great and i love the finish but sweet Jesus the rotten egg/burnt diaper smell doesnt seem to ever go away. i have a personal knife i darkened with it in January that still smells

I have tried cleaning the blades in many different firearm solutions and coating them with different oils and nothing works,

any ideas ?

Try some of the scent elimination spray or soap used by bow hunters. It's worth a shot. I have used some on various things it wasn't intended for. It may not totally eliminate the smell but it might help.

This is just a gut feeling on this one but soak it in paste of Arm & Hammer Baking soda.

That may neutralize the smell?
