How cold is it?

Yesterday was minus 20, today it is warming up to minus 1

Yes Tracy I know,I keep up with the weather there because I have a brother that lives there and a niece that moved there just yesterday. She DROVE from Main to Minneapolis!

It was so cold in Nebraska yesterday that fire burned in slow motion.

-11 in the a.m. Windchill temperature was even lower.

It's about -10F in NW Indiana right now. Got a little colder than that yesterday (-17F), with wind chills approaching -50F

I miss the moderate california coastal weather we lived in Santa Cruz before moving up here, can't get used to the weather here after 20 yrs.

We went from -10 last week to 55 and rain yesterday. Now is 15 and dropping fast. In Nova Scotia if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes and it will change.

It was so cold here this morning , all the critters were eating 'chops" side by side . It was a blinding snowstorm 3-4 ft drifts 25- 30 mph wind
it was brutal . It was strange to see birds, squirrels, crows, racoons and about a dozen kinds of birds . They were in the survival mode , not thinking about anything but that chopped corn ...........

I delighted with the cold. Now I can get all the tools I couldn't get the approval I needed from my wife to get until h--l froze over. :) :) Teddy

During the first cold snap 2 weeks ago, it got down to -31 without windchill at my particular location. Out plugged into my diesel pickup, my 100 foot "-60 Below" extension cord was frozen solid and was as stiff as rebar. Then my neighbor ran it over one morning with his snowblower so now I have 70 foot and 10 foot or so cords with some new ends on them. It froze a brand new battery in the other truck, a Dodge, so hard that I couldn't even get a click out of the starter. That has sealed the Dodge's fate for good so off to the glue farm with it in the spring.

This go around with -27 below was somewhat more interesting yet, it froze the 12" rollup door to the shop to the concrete so hard that it was stretching out the rubber trim strip along the bottom as I tried to raise it. Finally used some water from the shop and got it freed. Northern Montana was colder than Mars. Here in Lewistown I'm sitting on a roughly 600 dollar power bill for December between the house and shop - we're also located along a creek and one overnight shift at the shop I had so much frost on the INSIDE of the truck I could have made a snowman on the dash after I scraped sufficiently well to drive.

Our city crew is lackadaisical bordering on criminal with the snow removal and this year they have been challenging themselves with attempting to stack the snow up so high in intersections and the few turn lanes that drivers of large lifted pickups like mine can't see past. It is also getting stacked on sidewalks and between blocks so the pedestrians are walking in the few cleared areas which I cannot see into until I've committed to a turn.

Cold here is a relative term , -11 outside , when I was a kid they had not invented wind chill so I don't use it . In the house it can be colder depends if I have hade the wife mad lately ,
