Hi everyone, I'm Joe and I have a knife addiction lol. I am currently in the process of learning to forge my own blades, which of course is a lifelong dream of mine. I love knifemaking knowledge and do my best to absorb as much as possible! Im a fast learner, but these days I am limited by the cost of materials and tools lol. So any cost-cutting tips for the beginning knifemaker would be greatly appreciated! :)
Thanks and stay sharp!

Welcome to the pound! Find the nearest Hammer-In and attend. Ask your local farrier if he has any old rasps you can have. They make pretty good knives.

Joe, where in Tennessee? I'm on the south end of Big South Fork NRRA.
As George said, attend hammer-ins. Bowie's Claiborne's Hammer-in is in Knoxville on October 10-12th. There is camping on the grounds and motels close. Do a search for Bowie's Hammer-in for more information. People from all over the country come to this one.
