It doesn't look like there are any blacksmithing groups close to you. There is the Alabama regional forge in Pheonix City, Alabama, and the Ocmulgee Blacksmith group located around Macon and a regional forge in Savanah. http://www.ocmulgeeblacksmithsguild.org/
Of course there is the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America (ABANA) at www.abana.org that you should look into.
There are also several knife making groups in Georgia where you can learn a lot.
