Hauser Knife....KITH WIP

KNIFE MAKER
I'm planning on making one of my small cowboy/EDC/bird&trout/Paring knifes. A-2 toolsteel on this blade. have not tested this but recipe is to 61-62RC....they do feel a little harder than my last batch. Liquid Nitrogen treatment already done.

I do three grinds on these. One is the "Ranch" grind which is a strong hollow grind that you can use in a rough environment (thicker tip...stronger spine). The next one is the "Gentleman's" grind...which is a slicer for guysv that don't need to baton with a just over 6" long knife...lol. The last is the "kitchen" grind which basically turns it into a small paring knife with the grind partially going past the top edge. very thin tip...good prep knife.

I plan to do a gentleman's grind for an EDC knife with "Aztec Gold" handles...that is the Corian name...I usually rename them so I do not sound like a French fashion designer describing colors...I love this color because pins and lanyard holes look great in brass, copper,or stainless! I'm thinking copper.

On the handles I'm thinking checkering...diamond shaped. It takes away a lot of the nice shine but looks good also and feels great. The material pictured is a small piece of what I am making these handles from. It finishes beautiful...pics don't seem to show it well.

I drew roughly where the different grind lines are...middle one is the gent's grind.DSC01589.JPGDSC01585.JPG
