Hand Sanding Clamp

I got tired of using a C clamp but not motivated enough to make the magnetic type or a full on knife vise. Anyhow, after a quick trip to Harbor Freight, this was the result. Its the easiest method that I could conjure and it secures your blade very well. Hopefully it helps someone out.

Yeah I use those type of securing levers in my shop too!
They work great and once you get em dialed in, Their much faster than a C-clamp.

Horizontal toggle clamps have a ton of uses around the shop come in handy quite often. Heck. I use them on my kydex press, the larger ones are rated at about 500lbs so they do quite well.

I've been using this type of clamp for about 2 1/2 years now, started off with a clamp from HF, it will hold just fine for a long time, just learn how to adjust it. At my special tool store named Blade Runner in Wetumpka, AL, they had some there that are a little bigger, and the mechanism works a little differently but essinetially the same thing. The big thing I learned about how to set it up is to take a 2X4 and then recess the screw holes and screw a longer 1x whatever, I shape the 1X to something similar to a blade shape about an 1 to 2 inches wide, here is the big tip, bevel the sides the full length of the 1X, it will allow you to hand sand angles without getting into the wood. The 2X4 is perfect for clamping it in a bench vise! I can send pics later if anyone wants to see it. Great tip, I probably should have shared a while back!! REX
