i tryed a hamom with a wird side. one side of my 1095 turned out good and the other side did about 1/3 of the other . what did i do wrong?
i don't think the clay was to thick, but maybe it was.

Do you have any pictures? I'm no Bubba-san when it comes to hamons but I've done a few test runs. What you describe can happen for a number of reasons, the most common for me was my clay being uneven in thickness and application.
