So I had a lady ask me if I could make her a gouge for hollowing out large dried gourges.I told her I would give it a shot.I don't own a traditional style anvil so I had to come up with a way to form the multiple curves,in my shop I have the ball from a 2 inch ball valve that I use as a peening anvil for straight razor pins .After forging the blade to shape from 5/8x5/8 5160 bar stock I clamped the ball valve to my anvil and formed the final shape. This thing came out perfect for her needs and was extremely sharp and yes I cut myself with it.The lady is a older women and she started worrying obout cost and in the end I just gave it to her.
