Good documentary on tonight.

Watch Nanook use his ivory blade snow knife tonight.
Nanook of The North is coming on Turner Classic Movies tonight at 8:00 central time.
It was made in 1922,is silent but is a very well made movie chronicling a year in the life of Nanook the Eskimo and his family.

Nanook is one of my Favorite all time movies!
The cartoon on the Eskimo pie ice cream is modeled after him.

They lived a hard life but they didn't know any other. It makes me appreciate the life I live today.

That is a good doc - those folks lived a rough life!! At the opening scenes where they are un-loading the kayak - more than you'd expect!! If anyone misses it tonight it can watched at:

I have always loved this film.
The happy go luck nature of these people in such a hard and demanding area of the world is always inspiring to me. We think we have it rough?
LOL.

This documentary met world acclaim when it was released and shown in many different countries. One of the funniest parts is when Nanook hears the phonograph for the first time and bites the record to check out what its made of.
