I just got this one done to take to the Blade Show. It's a small hideout vest bowie. I'm not a good enough photographer to capture the beauty in the koa and the pattern in the blade at the same time. :D

Specs:
Hand forged damascus blade from 1084 and 15n20 steel
4 1/8" Blade, 8 5/8" overall length
False edge, just shy of sharp
'Twisted Steel' filework on spine
Rounded ricasso edge
Damascus steel guard and collar
Coined bronze accents
Stabilized koa handle

Man, that's gorgeous! The butt is my favorite part. Really nice, John!

Edit: on second thought... the file work and guard/collar area are hittin' as well, my friend.

That is a really nice knife. If it is for sale at Blade . . . you will not be bringing it back home. I would give it an hour, at best, sitting on the table.

As always John very nice work. The details are amazing. Where the handle meets the spacer with a fine radius. That's makes your work stand out.
 
I was wondering when we would be seeing some of your work again...:cool: Really beautiful and as again the detail of the knife is breathtaking.
 
Koa is so difficult to photograph- you can never duplicate the movement and depth that you see in person. Still, even in a photo this piece looks extraordinary. The knife is beautiful, with subtle touches. That's what I truly admire about your knives. Just when you think you've seen everything, your eye catches yet another detail that was put there purposefully but fit so well into the whole that it doesn't stand out because it belongs there. That is the mark of genius design.
