Just wondering if these would be good for forging or doing some damascus work with.
Forge folks / Damascus folks - any interest in D2, A2, or S7?

I would say no on all of them. They are all air hardening steels. Although they can be forged, they create a number of difficulties that simply do not make them good candidates for the process.
For using any of them in damascus...the same. IF you could get them to weld, there would be multiple hurdles to overcome.
Lots of reasons NOT to forge or use any of them in damascus.

I thought I heard you mention a good carbon forging steel the other day, maybe not. But I do have another idea for these blocks. Can you cut them down with the wire edm?

I probably could, but it is not a very fast process.
