I don't think it's an auto. Rather a folding with blade exposed partially when folded and then extended when open. Hubertus did make these sort of knives as well as Anton Wingen Jr., Edgebrand and others. Seems to be a particular sort of german design. They do sell for between 2-3+ hundred dollars. This one seems to have jigged bone handles from what I can see which Makes me think it's American or English made. It's definately a keeper.Hubertus made a similar auto called the “Saufaenger” or “pig sticker.”
