Just finishing up my first folder, using a trapper kit as a pattern for my slim line trapper. I got to thinking that on the next one, I want to use a bushing in the pivit hole, which will require a larger hole in the tang. My question is, how much metal should surround the pivot hole in the tang? It seems that if I keep all dimensions the same, but add a 3/16" hole to the tang for the bushing, it looks like it will be a weak tang. Is there a rule of thumb for this?
I have enjoyed making this little folder, and when it is complete, will post pics of it.
