I just picked this up this weekend, feels like close to 70-75 pounds, 1893 Fisher, with a pronounced number 7 on one foot. Does anyone have any info on these?

Well, I'm no expert, but I have an 1896 ~146# Fisher. The thing I like is that they are fairly quiet, but still have good rebound. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if I found a good deal.

I have a Fisher too. It's was made in 1916 and has 30 on the foot which means it is 300 pounds. They dropped the last zero off the number, EX: 25 = 250 pounds.:3:

It is quiet because it is cast iron with a tool steel face, I have a 300 pound Vulcan same construction and they were marketed as the quiet anvil. My Vulcan has great rebound is very quiet.

Nice score by the way
