FIrst Knife (neck knife)

Finally finished my first knife. Neck knife with 1080 steel, mustard finish tulipwood handle and brass pins.
Thanks for all the tips along the way. I learned a great deal. I need to hone in on so many skills and not waste so many materials and drill bits in the process. Also want a metal cutting bandsaw next. i also need to sharpen. I might do that the old school
way on a stone from my meatcutting days.
Oh and what do I use to polish the wood ?

Tools used
Ring saw ---usually used to cut glass
Harbour Freight 1 x 30 belt sander
HF drill press
Cobalt bits
Clamps

if the wood will take it, Tung oil looks great. TruOil is my favorite, but it's a process. Any wood that won't take an oil finish (you'll know because the oil never dries) is a good candidate for paste wax and a good buff.

By the way, you did just fine for your first knife. Use the heck out of it and see what you like and what you'd change on the next one. Your mustard finish looks great and that tulip wood is beautiful.

Thanks guys it was fun. I'll grab some tung oil. Yes that rear pin hole almost botched the whole job. I had to abort the lanyard hole and settled for a smaller pin that gave me enough room to work around. I made sure, as someone recommended , to put extra epoxy in the bigger hole so the pin won't move. So what's next ? not sure yet. I have so many things to learn. Thanks again for everybody's help.
