Well it has been a long build but I’ve finally finished my first flipper. I learned a lot - particularly that these are not easy, so my hat goes off to anyone making these in their home workshop! A mill would certainly make the build easier but I guess it shows you don’t need one.
I am really happy with the final product and am keen to make another one soon. The action is very smooth, blade centres well and I really like the finish on the handles.
Blade is RWL-34, liners are Ti that were sand blasted then anodised blue before a quick tumble. G10 orange spacer, ceramic ball detent and ceramic bearings (all from USA knife maker). Clip also Ti anodised light blue and stonewashed and also acts as a stop for the lock bar not to be overextended when unlocking the blade.
