First Dagger - a practice piece

Wayne Goddard brings cured bamboo to 5160 Club meetings every so often and challenges us to use them in a piece. I wanted to try making a dagger so decided to make it a learning experience. The 1st try at the blade went into the "Oops!" drawer - the "waist" design means continuously changing the bevel to keep the spine height anywhere close to right. This 2nd shot at the blade went better - though I goofed up and redid the guard attachment a few times. Practice practice practice.

I agree that you have made a attractive dagger, guard and handle.

Bamboo is one of nature's strongest and most resilient creations.
Man has been trying to copy its strength & flex per weight for a long time.
