This is my final glue up with an Oak handle. As you can see I use a dummy pin that is lubed for easy removal , after the epoxy sets I will remove the pin and replace it with a domed pin. ,
Would love to see how you do the domed pin. I’m assuming one side of the pin is domed and the other not. What is your method for doming the opposite side.
Opaul , to dome the second side I cut the pin to length with about .040 to .045 extra and rounded off. Then I position the domed side on my anvil and then using a small ballpein hammer and a lot of patients I dome the other side.
I agree. It is ome of the most beautiful woods, yet because there is so much of it , we take it for granted. Although that piece he used is extra special.
