Here's one I finished just after the first of the year. Another of my guard-less hunters, dressed up a bit.

Specs:
Hand Forged from 1075 steel, clay quenched and etched
8 1/2" overall, 3 3/4" blade, .185" thick at the ricasso w/ full distal taper
'Twisted Steel' file-worked spine
Rounded ricasso edge
Black g-10 fluted collars
Coined copper spacers w/ damascus band
Stabilized Curly Koa handle

All comments and discussion welcome.

WOW! Simply beautiful! I really need to try coining a spacer!

I love the damascus touch, and that file work is impressive!

Thanks for sharing!

I love the detailed file work on this knife. And the contrasting colors.

Great knife John, maybe you can help me with one question I have. I'd like to try do those copper or any type coin, but I'm not sure how do it, is it just file work or do you use another method? Thanks, hope you can help.

Wayne, here's a past thread where this subject was discussed. There is some good info and a couple ways discussed and I share how I do it in here too:

Hi John, I clicked on the link but didn't get any info, I must be missing something.

In that thread, in post #12, I describe how I do a coined spacer. Let me know if it doesn't show for you and I can copy and paste it here. It's a pretty long post.
