A question if you dont mind Fred. With respect for a lovely blade but Is there a right and wrong way for the feather to point so to speak or is it a matter of each piece suggesting which way it wants to go. The reason I ask is that my immediate thought was to wonder if the blade would have looked "sharper" if the layers/lines of the damascus were seeming to converge toward the tip as opposed to running back into the ricasso.

I pondered the direction of the pattern but the billet seemed to lay out in this direction . I think the question of correct direction is similar to which came first the chicken or the egg.
