When I used to make fishing rods, we would use an alcohol burner or a heat gun to heat up the epoxy and it got water thin and very runny and drippy, but it let all the bubbles out. The alcohol burner work well with the epoxy in a thin metal tray, the heat gun would often blow dust into the wraps, so I usually use an alcohol burner. It was basically a glass container with a cloth wick in it for the alcohol burner.
