I have had different shapes in aebl... and man!!!! It is a chore to go back to 180 and once you hit 600 grit they are back... water also shows it... the magnetic thing sounds like a good explanation...

I am thinking the bar magnet probably made two poles and that coulda done it...

Haha. My brother is a mechanical engineer and that's the way he explains things sometimes. I have made one knife so far. This is a great forum. I haven't been on it in a while. I plan on making another knife soon, with your help of course.
