EDC from Vintage Saw Blade

Looks good - what type of vintage saw blade? Circular saw as in sawmill blade? or a skill saw blade? Or, perhaps a big band saw blade? Doesn't matter, but it really looks good. What's the handle material?

Hey KenH.
Thank you. I found a very old circular saw blade on my wife's family farm when we moved here 30 years ago in an old barn. No telling how long it had been there. It was about a 12 inch saw.
The steel is good and it takes a very, very sharp edge. The heat treating, normalizing, quenching and tempering came out great.
I've been using a lot of Wenge lately. I enjoy working with it. I sand up to 400, apply several coats of wax and then polish with a 1500 grit and buff out.
Thanks!

Another nice looking Blade Sir!! I'm really pumped to see this as a friend of mine just gave me 1/2 of a 22" saw mill blade!!

Gliden thanks and congrats on getting that head saw. Do you know what the thickness is? I have two saws that are 30" in diameter! I'll be using one soon to start building more knives.

Just got it have not mic'd it but it looks about 3/16"?? Gent that gave it to me says he burned up 3 3-1/4" abrasive wheels cutting it in half.

I also like using vintage shear plows. The metal is good and works well although it's tough on tools. This is a couple of years ago when I cut off a point and used my angle grinder to shape a knife. Kind of embarrassing now to look back on how crude it was. But I actually went back and did a regrind and proper heat treat and gave it a second life after I did more research and got serious about knife making.
